Gillisonville Baptist Church WMU’s goal is to plan community & world missions. We also teach missions to our younger girls in GA’s & Mission Friends.
Many of our missions are introduced as a means of meeting a need. In June 2021 our ladies met to discuss a plan of action to help those struggling with addiction with a Life-line. This is an on-going community and world -wide need. Our goal was to raise awareness & hope to meet a community need. In 2020-2021 alone 19 men and women lost their lives in Jasper County to a drug or laced overdose. This is not ok! Our WMU had several fundraisers to raise money to cover the admission & transportation cost to the Calvary House in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. This gives hope to a person struggling with addiction without judgement. We chose the Calvary house because they place God in the forefront of a persons recovery. This is a crucial step. Without God's guidance a person trying to over- come the evils of addiction by themselves is like a sinking ship without a chance of staying afloat. If you or someone you know needs a life-line to recovery give the Calvary House a call. The longer the treatment plan the better your chances are for staying on the course of a addiction free-life. They have a men & women’s home. Men’s Home1-954-943-8328 Women’s Home 1-954 664-7675 Faith Home Christian Recovery in Greenwood, SC is another shorter term option 1 864-223 -0694. Make this important call today, it’s a matter of life & death! Choose Life! Jesus has already paid the price of our sins on the cross of Calvary. In Christian Love, Susan C.
